The call for HINAC7 abstracts will open on November 12, 2026 following an informational webinar. HIV is Not A Crime VII National Training Academy (HINAC7), an event to educate and train 300 people living with HIV (PLHIV), stakeholders, and policy leaders to mobilize state-level advocacy to end HIV-related criminalization, will take place June 5-8, 2027 at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. The Sero Project is partnering with Positive Women’s Network-USA, Positively Trans, and the U.S. PLHIV Caucus, the four largest PLHIV national networks in the U.S., to produce the training academy in coalition with a large number of national, state, and local PLHIV, LGBTQ+, racial, gender, economic, and social justice organizations and with the support of nonprofits and corporations.

HINAC7 Program Work Group Chair, Kevin Lish says, “HINAC7 is an exciting opportunity to bring together advocates living with HIV and allies together to learn, connect, and strengthen our collective movement to end HIV criminalization. I’m especially excited to see abstract proposals from communities and organizers across the country that share innovative, practical, and intersectional strategies for building power and creating change. I can’t wait to see what you bring to HINAC7 in Columbus in June!”

There will be four tracks: 1) Effective and Accountable Leadership, 2) Rights, Policy and Justice, 3) Campaign Planning, Strategy and Messaging, and 4) Core Curriculum. Workshops will advance informed and effective grassroots organizing and coalition building, providing participants with concrete tools and resources to develop state-level strategies when they return home.

An informational webinar will be hosted via Zoom on Thursday, November 12, at 6:00 p.m. ET. Register for the webinar at https://tinyurl.com/hinac7-abstract-web. This webinar will also be recorded for those who are unable to attend. Organizers are excited to announce that abstracts will be submitted directly on Whova, simplifying and streamlining the submission process. A short (3-4 minute) video is available for review before this webinar. More details and instructions will be available on the November 12th webinar. The abstract submissions will be accepted from November 12, 2026, until January 19, 2027, before 11:59 pm ET.

We encourage you to apply to conduct a workshop at HINAC7 National Training Academy and contribute to this growing and important movement.
